Find your problem in the table, try the quick fix, and open the full guide if it is not solved.
| Problem | Quick fix | Full guide |
|---|---|---|
| The server is not in the browser | Public server list must be ipv4; wait a minute after the start; search the Server name | Not in the browser |
| Players cannot join | Server Online, exact password, free slots, at most 4 players per home connection; join by address with F1 | Players cannot join |
| Teeworlds 0.7 players cannot join | Every map needs its 0.7 badge; restart after switching to a new map too early | Teeworlds 0.7 |
| The server started on Tutorial | The start map is not in data/maps: upload it or pick another | Tutorial instead of your map |
| A map has a long name ending in numbers | It was saved by a DDNet client; it gets its plain name at the next start | Long map names |
| An upload is refused | A .map file whose name has no quotes, slashes or backslashes, at most 58 bytes, and not the name of a map already there | Upload refused |
| The arrows and raised-hand buttons are missing | Wait for the 0.7 badge after an upload; the server must be running; maps that come with DDNet have no vote button | Switch the map |
| The server shows as TestDDraceNetwork | Cheats (test commands) is on | TestDDraceNetwork |
| The RCON password does not work | Copy it again from Game Settings; restart after a change; lift a ban from wrong tries with unban | RCON password |
| The players card says No answer from the server | Normal while it starts or is stopped; restart once if it stays | No answer |
| A setting changes back | Change it on Game Settings, not in autoexec_server.cfg; team and hit rules go in reset.cfg | Own settings |
| DDNet did not update | Game Version must be latest; restart; the Console says why an update failed | Updates |
| A player keeps coming back after a ban | Every ban ends at a restart; ban again or set a Server password | Lift a ban |
The server does not start
Read the Console: its last lines say what stopped it. If you changed myServerconfig.cfg or reset.cfg just before, put # in front of your new lines and start again. See How to fix a server that will not start.
Lag or memory
DDNet needs very little memory, so lag usually comes from the network. See How much RAM does a DDNet server need?
Still stuck?
On the Play with friends card, open Can't connect? and click Ask support, or open a ticket from Support in the panel with your server's name and what you see.
