Put your own DDNet settings, votes and commands in myServerconfig.cfg, in the main folder of your server under Files. The server runs it last at every start, after the panel's settings, and an update or a reinstall never changes it.
Edit it
- Open your server in the panel and click the Files tab.
- Open
myServerconfig.cfg. - Add one setting or command per line, for example:
sv_motd "Welcome! Be nice and have fun."
add_vote "Restart round" "restart"
- Save the file and restart the server.
Every DDNet setting and command is listed on ddnet.org, on its Settings and Commands page.
What not to put in it
The panel sets these at every start from Settings, Game Settings: the server name, password, start map, server list, player limit, RCON passwords and cheats. Change them there. A line for the same setting in myServerconfig.cfg would win over the panel, because the file runs last, and then the panel setting looks like it does nothing. The player limit is the one exception: a sv_max_clients line cannot raise it above your slots.
Rules DDNet resets at every map
A few game rules, such as sv_team, sv_hit and sv_endless_drag, go back to their defaults each time a map loads, so a line for them in myServerconfig.cfg does not last. DDNet then runs a file named reset.cfg: create it in the main folder, next to myServerconfig.cfg, and put those lines there. See How to change team settings on your DDNet server and How to change gameplay rules on your DDNet server.

The public-server preset
Make it a public server on the Maps page writes its lines in a marked block at the top of myServerconfig.cfg. Lines you write below the block win over it, and Undo takes only the block out. See How to make your DDNet server public and add moderators.
Good to know
data/autoexec_server.cfgis the game's own start file. The panel rewrites some of its lines at every start, so keep your changes inmyServerconfig.cfg.- Check the Console after a restart: DDNet reports there when it cannot use a line.
