The Maps page takes a .map file whose name has no quotes, slashes or backslashes, is at most 58 bytes long, and is not already on the server. Rename your file on your computer, or delete the old map first, and upload again.

| Choose a DDNet map, a .map file whose name has no quotes, slashes or backslashes and is at most 58 bytes long (about 58 letters). | Rename the file: a plain name that ends in .map, without ", / or \. Letters with accents count as two bytes or more, so keep such names shorter. |
| There is already a map called ... Rename your file or delete that map first. | A map with this file name is on the server. Delete the old one on the Maps page first, or upload yours under another name. |

Other causes
- No Upload a map button. Your role cannot upload files. Ask the owner for Files: Create and upload: How to let a friend help run your DDNet server.
- A file from your client's downloads folder. It is called like
Name_and a long code. It uploads, but rename it toName.mapon your computer first for a tidy list: A DDNet map on your server has a long name with numbers. - Not a map. A file renamed to
.mapthat is not a DDNet map uploads, but the server cannot load it. Use a map saved by the DDNet editor.
Replace a map with a new version
- Download the old map from its row first if you may want it back.
- Delete it with the bin button on its row. The start map has no bin: choose another start map first.
- Upload the new file under the same name.
