Getting started

How long does the first start take? The game is about 17 GB and installs in around 14 minutes. It is ready at Connected with 7DTD server. Full guide

How do my friends join? Join a Game, then Connect to IP, with the IP and Port from the Play with friends card. Full guide

How do I invite friends? Click Copy invite message on the Play with friends card. Full guide

Can PlayStation and Xbox players join? Yes, on a server with crossplay switched on in serverconfig.xml, 8 slots or fewer and EasyAntiCheat on. Full guide

How do I set a password? Settings, Game Settings, Server Password, then restart. Full guide

How do I change the player limit? The pencil next to Slots on Overview, up to your plan's limit. Full guide

Settings

Where do I change difficulty, blood moons, day length or loot? In the sandbox code, the SandboxCode line of serverconfig.xml. Make the code in the game's Sandbox Options. Full guide

Why does Game Difficulty in the panel not change anything? The game removed that setting in its 3.0 update. Difficulty is now part of the sandbox code. Full guide

Can I edit serverconfig.xml? Yes, under Files. A few lines are set by the panel at every start instead. Full guide

Worlds

Can I play a random map? Yes: set World to Random map from your seed and pick a seed and size. Full guide

How do I start a new world and keep the old one? Change Save Name and restart. Full guide

Can I bring my world from my PC or another host? Yes: zip it, upload it into .local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves and set World and Save Name. Full guide

Can I download my world? Yes, from Files or as a backup. Full guide

How do I wipe? Run World Reset on Quick Tasks, with a backup first. Full guide

Does a wipe remove admins and bans? No. They stay in serveradmin.xml. Full guide

Is my world backed up? If your plan includes backups, an Automatic backup saves the world and backs it up every night. Full guide

Mods

How do I add a mod? Upload it as a folder into Mods, with ModInfo.xml inside, and restart. Full guide

Do I need to turn off EasyAntiCheat? Only for mods that ship a .dll. Full guide

Do players need the mods too? For mods with new models, icons or code, yes. Mods that only change XML usually run on the server alone. Full guide

Can I use Oxide (uMod) plugins? Yes: switch on Oxide (uMod) on the Modding tab. Full guide

How do I become admin? Type admin add with your name and 0 in the Console. Full guide
