How to set up a whitelist on your 7 Days to Die server

Type whitelist add and a player's name or ID in the Console. As soon as the whitelist has an entry, only players on it, and admins, can join, so add yourself first. Remove every entry to open the server again.

Turn the whitelist on

1. Join the server with your own account, and have your friends join, so you can see their IDs.
2. In the panel, open the Console tab and type listplayers.
3. Add yourself first: type whitelist add and a space, then your platform ID, for example Steam_ followed by your 17-digit Steam ID. Press Enter.
4. Add each friend the same way.

The platform ID is safest. A name works too while the player is online.

Manage the list

• whitelist list shows who is on it.
• whitelist remove and the player's name or ID takes them off.
• With no entries left, anyone with the address, and the password if you set one, can join again.

Good to know

• The whitelist is kept in .local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/serveradmin.xml, with admins and bans. It stays through wipes and new worlds.
