How to let console players join your 7 Days to Die server

PlayStation and Xbox players can only join a server that allows crossplay. The game's rules for that are: at most 8 player slots, crossplay switched on, EasyAntiCheat on, and EOS sanctions not ignored. Steam players can join whatever these settings are.

These rules come from the game's pinned Steam post, Dedicated Server Cross-Platform Play Settings. They are the game's rules, not ours.

Set the four rules

Edit serverconfig.xml

1. Stop the server.
2. Open Files and click serverconfig.xml in the main folder.
3. Find the line with ServerAllowCrossplay and set its value to true. Find IgnoreEOSSanctions and set its value to false.
4. Click Save content.
5. Start the server.

The values crossplay accepts

The same post also lists the values crossplay accepts for many other lines of serverconfig.xml, such as the land claim lines and PlayerKillingMode. The values the file ships with are fine. If you change one of those lines, pick a value from the post's list for it, or console players may not see your server.

How console players join

What crossplay rules out

• Mods that need EasyAntiCheat off, and Oxide. A crossplay server keeps EasyAntiCheat on, so these cannot run on it.
• More than 8 players at once.
• Different game versions. Everyone, on every platform, must be on the same game version as the server.

A game update can bring a fresh serverconfig.xml, and a reinstall always puts back the game's own copy. After either, check that your crossplay lines are still set.
