Invite your friend from Team & Roles in the left menu and give them a role with the permissions for what they should do. Playing on the server needs only the IP and port. Running it in the panel needs a role.
Invite someone
- Open your server in the panel and click Team & Roles in the left menu.
- Click Invite someone, enter their email address, choose a role and send the invitation.
The steps and the built-in roles are in How to invite friends and give them access.
Which permission a 7 Days to Die task needs
| Task | Permission |
|---|---|
Use the Console: admin, kick, ban, whitelist, say, saveworld | Use the console |
| Start, stop or restart the server | Start, Stop, Restart |
| Change Game Settings, or switch Oxide (uMod) on the Modding tab | Change startup |
| Change Slots | Rename server |
| Upload mods, worlds or plugins | Browse files and Create and upload |
Edit serverconfig.xml | Read contents and Edit and rename |
| Unzip an upload | Compress and extract |
| Delete a mod or an old world | Delete under files |
| Take a backup | Create under backups |
| Restore a backup | Restore under backups |
| Add, switch on or run schedules, and World Reset | the schedule permissions |
If a button is missing for your friend, the role lacks the permission for it. Restoring backups and wiping are risky: give those only to people you trust.
Admin in the game is separate
A panel role does not make someone admin in the game, and an admin in the game cannot use the panel. To make a friend an admin in the game, see How to become admin on your 7 Days to Die server.
Good to know
- To remove access, open Team & Roles and remove the person.
- To see who did what, use Activity: How to see what happened on your server.
