- Start the server and join it once with the account you want to make admin.
- Find your player ID: open the Console tab in the panel, type listplayers and read your ID from the line for your character. A Steam account uses its Steam 64-bit ID, a 17-digit number (steamid.io can look it up).
- In the same Console type: admin add Steam_
<your 17-digit ID>0 (the ID follows Steam_ directly, with no space, and the 0 is the level). Level 0 is full admin. No restart is needed. - In the game, press F1 to open the in-game console and run admin commands. They also work from the panel Console without being in the game.
- Keep full admin (level 0) for one or two people you trust. Other players need no level: they join as normal players.
Useful admin commands

admin remove <name/entity id/platform id> | Removes someone's admin rights. |
admin list | Shows who is currently an admin. |
saveworld | Saves the world right now (short form: sa). |
say <message> | Sends a message to everyone on the server. |
kick <playername> [reason] | Removes a player from the server. |
ban add <name/entity id> <duration> <unit> [reason] [displayname] | Bans a player for a set time. |
whitelist add <name/entity id> [displayname] | Adds a player to the whitelist. |
gettime | Shows the current in-game day and time (short form: gt). |
settime <day> <hour> <minute> | Sets the in-game time. settime day and settime night jump to the next day or night. |
shutdown | Stops the server gracefully. |
