A freshly started server with no players uses about 1956 MB, so 4 GB leaves headroom for a small group.
Our free Game Server RAM Guide shows the memory a V Rising server used in our own measurement.
Check your own usage
Open your server's Overview page and look at Usage, then the RAM tab, while players are online. An empty server tells you little, so read it with players on. See How to read your server's usage graphs.
Tips for a healthier server
- Restart the server about once a day when it is least busy, as the developer recommends for stability.
- Turn on Lower FPS When Empty so an empty server uses less CPU.
- Lower Auto Save Count or raise Auto Save Interval if the world folder is growing large, but keep enough saves to roll back.
- Leave Validate Server Files empty unless you suspect broken files, because it makes every start much slower.
Change plan
If memory keeps reaching your plan's limit while players are on, move to a bigger plan. See How to change your plan or billing cycle.
