These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost Enshrouded server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings
| Setting | What it does | Allowed | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Auto Update | Enable automatic updates on boot | on or off | on |
| Server Name | The name shown in the server browser and to joining players. | text | A PlaynHost Enshrouded Server |
| Server Password | A password set here lets players in with Friend permissions. Admin rights come only from the Admin role password in enshrouded_server.json in Files. Leave it empty to use the role passwords only. | text | empty |
| Validate | Re-check every server file against Steam on the next start. Slower start; use it if files look corrupted. | on or off | off |
| Max Players (read only) | The player limit included with your plan. This field is read-only. To run with fewer players, click Players on your server Overview page and pick any number up to your plan limit (this restarts your server). Upgrading your plan raises the limit itself. | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
Good to know
- Server Name, Server Password, Max Players and the ports are written into the server's config file every time the server starts, so change them in the panel and restart. Anything you type over those values in the file is overwritten at the next start. Edit the other settings in the config file (enshrouded_server.json in Files) only while the server is stopped, then start it again.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- Passwords and tokens are not listed with a value. Each server starts with one set for you, or with none, as the row says. Set a password before you invite players if you want a private server.
