The panel writes four values into the server's config file every time the server starts: the Server Name, the Server Password, the player limit and the port. Whatever you type over them in enshrouded_server.json is replaced. Change them in the panel instead.
Where to change each one
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Server name | Settings, Game Settings, Server Name. See How to change your Enshrouded server name and password. |
| Server password | Settings, Game Settings, Server Password. |
| Player limit | Edit slots on the Active players card on Overview. See How to change player slots on your Enshrouded server. |
| Port | You cannot change it. The server uses one port, shown in the Server Address on Overview. |
Then restart the server so the change takes effect.
Everything else
Difficulty, chat, permissions and the Admin password are on Settings, Gameplay Settings. Changes saved there stay: the game does not overwrite the file when it stops.

Use Save & restart to apply at once, or Save only to wait for the next restart. See How to set up your Enshrouded server.
If a Gameplay Settings change has no effect
The difficulty values apply only when Difficulty preset is Custom: see Your Enshrouded custom difficulty settings do nothing.
