What a player may do on your server depends on the password they join with. You choose what players who use the Server Password may do under Settings, Gameplay Settings, Players who join with the Server Password.
Change the permissions
- Open your server in the panel and click the Settings tab.
- Under Config files, click Gameplay Settings.
- Scroll to Players who join with the Server Password.

- Switch each permission on or off.
- Click Save & restart, or Save only to wait for the next restart.
The permissions
| Setting | What it lets these players do |
|---|---|
| Can kick and ban | Remove other players from the server. |
| Can open chests and stations | Use chests, crafting stations and other storage. |
| Can change the world | Dig and build outside bases. |
| Can build in bases | Build and remove blocks inside bases. |
| Can grow bases | Place flame altars and upgrade bases. |
| Reserved slots | Slots kept free for these players when the server is nearly full. See How to reserve slots. |
What a new server has
On a new server, these players can open chests, change the world, build in bases and grow bases. They cannot kick and ban. Admins always can do everything: see How to become admin on your Enshrouded server.
Good to know
- Players who join with the Admin password are a separate group. The Admin permissions are not changed on this page.
- Who joins with what is up to you: give the Server Password to your players, and the Admin password to people you trust.
- If your players report that they cannot open chests or build, check these switches first. See Players cannot open chests or build on your Enshrouded server.
- The game decides the rest, such as combat, gathering and quests, and those are open to everyone.
