How to ban and unban players on your Enshrouded server

EnshroudedUpdated Oct 20, 20263 min read

Enshrouded keeps a lasting ban list: a banned player cannot join again, even after a restart. You ban players in game. The panel shows everyone on the list and lets you lift a ban.

Ban a player

  1. Join the server as someone who may kick and ban. Admins always can: see How to become admin on your Enshrouded server. Players who join with the Server Password can only if Can kick and ban is on: see How to choose what your Enshrouded players can do.
  2. Open the Social tab in game, find the player and ban them.

A kick only removes a player until they join again. A ban keeps them out.

See who is banned

  1. Open your server in the panel and click Settings, then Gameplay Settings.
  2. Scroll to Banned players. Each ban shows the player's Steam name, their character and when they were banned. If the list is empty, it says Nobody is banned.

Lift a ban

  1. Stop the server and wait until it says Offline. The game keeps its own copy of the ban list while it runs and would write the ban back, so the panel only removes a ban while the server is stopped.
  2. Under Banned players, click Remove ban next to the player. Changed your mind? Click Keep the ban before you save.
  3. Save, then start the server. The player can join again.

You can also lift a ban in game from the Social tab, with the server running.
