How to change chat and voice chat on your Enshrouded server

Open Settings, Gameplay Settings and scroll to Chat. Switch Text chat and Voice chat on or off, choose Who hears voice chat, then click Save & restart.

Change chat

  1. Open your server in the panel and click the Settings tab.
  2. Under Config files, click Gameplay Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Chat heading.

  1. Set the options:
SettingWhat it does
Text chatPlayers can type messages to each other in the game.
Voice chatPlayers can talk to each other in the game.
Who hears voice chatNearby players only, or Everyone on the server.
  1. Click Save & restart, or Save only to wait for the next restart.

What a new server has

A new server has Text chat on and Voice chat off. Who hears voice chat is Nearby players only.

Good to know

  • Who hears voice chat only matters when Voice chat is on.
  • Players need a microphone set up in the game to use voice chat.
  • The chat setting is for the whole server. You cannot turn it on for some players only.
