How to use the Rust+ app with your Rust server

Players pair the Rust+ companion app from inside the game. The Play with friends card on your server's Overview page says it in one step: For the Rust+ app: once in, press Esc, choose Rust+ and pair. The app shows the map, team chat and raid alarms. There is no switch to turn on in the panel.

Pair a phone

1. Join the server: How to join your Rust server.
2. Once you are in the game, press Esc, choose Rust+ and pair, as the card says.

Each player pairs their own phone. The step is also in the message that Copy invite message copies, so friends you invite get it too: How to invite friends to your Rust server.

The App Port

1. Open your server in the panel, click the Settings tab, then Game Settings.
2. Find App Port. The panel describes it as Port for the Rust+ App.

App Port is marked Read only: it is set for your server, and there is nothing to change.

Your server's logo in the app

Server Logo is the field the panel describes as The circular server logo for the Rust+ app.

1. In Game Settings, click in Server Logo.
2. Paste a direct link to a picture on a public website and press Enter.
3. Restart the server so it uses the new logo.

Like URL and Server Image, the link must be a plain web address: a link with ?, &, +, #, ~ or * in it is refused. See How to change your Rust server name and description for the other listing fields.

Wipes and Rust+

The Full wipe card on the Wipe page says the server keeps its Rust+ registration, so players stay paired. A map wipe and a map and blueprint wipe delete less than a full wipe, so they do not touch it either. See How to wipe your Rust server.

Good to know

• The panel shows the app's step and these two fields only. What the app does is up to Facepunch's app.
• If players cannot pair, check first that they can join the server with client.connect: Players cannot join your Rust server. If joining works and pairing does not, open a ticket.
• Every Game Settings field is in Rust server settings: every option explained.
