Upload the plugin's .cs file to oxide/plugins on an Oxide server or carbon/plugins on a Carbon server, in the Files tab. Do it this way for a paid Codefling plugin, a plugin from another site, or one the panel cannot download for you.
Before you start
- Your server must run Oxide or Carbon. On Vanilla nothing loads plugins: How to add mods to your Rust server.
- Download the .cs file to your computer first. For a paid Codefling plugin, buy it on Codefling and download it there: the panel explains that
Codefling gives the file only to the account that bought it. - A plugin that comes as a .zip or another kind of file has its own instructions from its author. Follow those.
Upload it
- Open your server in the panel and click the Files tab.
Open the plugins folder of your framework:
- Oxide:
oxide/plugins - Carbon:
carbon/plugins
- Oxide:
- Click Upload and choose the .cs file. Keep its name as it is.
- Open the Modding tab, then Plugins, and click Installed. The plugin is on the list, because the list reads the .cs files in that folder.
Oxide and Carbon load a new plugin file by themselves while the server runs, so you do not normally need to restart. If it does not appear to work, restart the server.
A plugin put in oxide/plugins on a Carbon server never loads, and the other way round.
Check it loaded
- On Oxide, a plugin that failed to start shows Not running on the Installed list, with the reason: How to fix a plugin that is not running on your Rust server.
- On either framework, type
oxide.plugins(Carbon:c.plugins) in the Console to list the loaded plugins.
Update a plugin you uploaded
Upload the new .cs file with the same name to the same folder, and replace the old one. The panel looks for updates on uMod by the plugin's name, and on Codefling only for plugins it installed from there, so it does not follow the updates of a paid Codefling plugin. If an uploaded plugin shows an Update badge, check on the plugin's uMod page that it is the same plugin before you click it.
