To move a Project Zomboid world from another host, download the world folder, the three settings files and the accounts database from the old server, upload them to the same places on PlayNHost, set Server Name to the world's name, add the mods on the Workshop tab and start. The steps are the same as for a world from your PC, with a few extra checks for mods.
1. Collect everything on the old server
Stop the old server first, so the files are complete. Download, from the game's data folder on the old host (called Zomboid or the cache folder):
Saves/Multiplayer/<name>/: the whole world folder.Server/<name>.ini,Server/<name>_SandboxVars.luaandServer/<name>_spawnregions.lua.db/<name>.db: the accounts, bans and whitelist.
Write down the Workshop item numbers and the mod names: open <name>.ini and read the lines WorkshopItems= and Mods=. Also write down Map=. The build matters: note whether the old server ran Build 41 or Build 42.
2. Upload to PlayNHost
Follow How to upload your own Project Zomboid world. In short: zip the world folder, upload it to .cache/Saves/Multiplayer, Unzip, upload the settings files to .cache/Server and the database to .cache/db. A name with spaces or underscores must be renamed to letters and digits first, and Server Name must be the same.
3. Put the mods on the Workshop tab
The panel writes WorkshopItems= and Mods= from its own lists at every start, so the lines in your uploaded .ini are replaced. Open the Workshop tab and add the same items and mod names, in the same order, and any map folders: How to add a Workshop mod to your Project Zomboid server and How to add a map mod to your Project Zomboid server.
4. Match the build and start
Set Beta Branch to the build the world was made on: How to choose Build 41 or Build 42 for your Project Zomboid server. Start the server and read the Console: How to check which world your Project Zomboid server loaded.
5. Tell your players
The IP and the port are new. Send them the invite message: How to invite friends to your Project Zomboid server. Players keep their accounts if you moved the database.
For the whole move, including billing and timing, see How to move your existing server to PlayNHost. If you cannot get the files out of the old host, open a ticket.
