Every world import on the World page is backed up first. To go back, open Wipe in the left menu, click the Bring a world in tab and click Undo the import. The server stops, the imported world is deleted, and the backup from just before the import is restored. Anything played since the import is lost.
Undo the last import
- Open your server in the panel and click Wipe in the left menu. The page is called World.
- Click the tab Bring a world in. At the top, the card The last import is in place names the backup: "Undo restores the backup taken just before it" and the backup's name.
- Click Undo the import.
- The window Undo the import? says "The server stops, the imported world is deleted, and the backup is restored. Anything played since the import is lost." Click Undo the import.
- The card at the top of the page follows it. When it says the backup is being restored, the server comes back by itself once the restore has finished.
Who can undo
Undo the import needs the permissions to restore backups and to delete files. A helper without them does not see the button.
If Undo is not offered
- The card only shows after an import made on this page. A world you uploaded through Files has no Undo: restore a backup from Backups instead.
- If the backup from before the import was deleted, the panel says the import cannot be undone here. Restore another backup: How to restore your Project Zomboid world from a backup.
- While a wipe or another import runs, the button waits until it has finished.
Good to know
- The backup is a normal backup on the Backups page, named "Before world import" and the date. You can also restore it from there.
- To try the import again, upload the right file: How to upload your own Project Zomboid world.
