Stop the server, open Files, and check the savegame folder. It must hold your file named exactly world0.ksd and the backup folder, and no other file whose name starts with world0.ksd.
Stop the server first. The game rewrites the world when it stops and as it saves. Do not play on a wrong world, because each save replaces it.
Check the file
- Stop the server and wait until it says Offline.
- Open Files, then
savegame.

- Check these:
| Check | Fix |
|---|---|
The name is exactly world0.ksd | Rename it with Rename file. On Windows, make sure the name is not really world0.ksd.ksd or world0.ksd.txt: in File Explorer, open View and switch on File name extensions. |
Another file starts with world0.ksd (for example world0.ksd.old, world0.ksd copy) | Move it out of savegame. The game takes in every such file, and may load the wrong one. |
| The file is very small | It may be a fresh world, not yours. See the next step. |
| You uploaded while the server was running | The game wrote its own world over it when it stopped. Upload again with the server stopped. |
Check you took the right file
If the file came from your PC, check you copied the world and not something else, and the right copy: the local one or the Steam cloud one, since the game keeps both. See How to upload your own Enshrouded world. If you are not sure which file in your folder is your world, open a ticket with a screenshot of the folder.
If the file came from another host, it must be a 1.0 world file. Files with long names made of letters and numbers are from the older layout: see How to move your Enshrouded world from another host.
Go back to where you were
If you made a backup before the upload, restore it. See How to back up and restore your Enshrouded world. Then upload again, following the steps in order.
Check after the next start
Follow How to check which world your Enshrouded server loaded. If it still shows a new world, open a ticket with the Console text and a screenshot of savegame.
