How to upload your own Enshrouded world

EnshroudedUpdated Oct 5, 20263 min read

You can bring an Enshrouded world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.

Back up first. Uploading a world with the same name as the one on the server replaces it. Create a backup of the current world (see How to create, download and restore backups), stop the server, and keep your own original files until the server loads the new world.

Upload and load your world

  1. Stop the server from the panel.
  2. Open Files and go to the savegame folder in the server's root folder.
  3. Upload the world save files from your backup or old dedicated server into that folder. Files with the same name as existing ones replace them, so make a panel backup first if you want to keep that world.
  4. Start the server and join to confirm your world and bases are there. If it does not load, open a ticket.

Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.

Start a fresh world

Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.

  1. Stop the server from the panel.
  2. Make a panel backup first. The next step permanently deletes the current world, including every base and everything stored in it, and the backup is the only way back.
  3. In Files, delete the world files inside the savegame folder. Your enshrouded_server.json settings and roles are not touched.
  4. Start the server and join. Watch the Console while it loads. The server should create a fresh world, and if none appears, open a ticket.

See How to back up and restore your Enshrouded world.
