How to check which world your Enshrouded server loaded

EnshroudedUpdated Oct 20, 20263 min read

After you upload or restore a world, start the server and check three things: the Console, the Worlds page and the game itself.

1. The Console

  1. Open the Console tab and start the server.
  2. Wait for these lines. Keen Games documents them as the signs that the server is up:

[server] Load deserialization took followed by a number of seconds, and

[Session] 'HostOnline' (up)!

The first line shows the server finished loading its world. The badge turns to Online when the second line appears.

These lines do not name the world. A brand new world prints them too. So also check the next two things.

2. The Worlds page

  1. Click Worlds in the left menu, right under Overview.
  2. On the Your world card, look at Last saved, Saved at and Size.

A world you played for weeks is much bigger than a new one, which starts very small. If Size is tiny after you uploaded a big world, the server did not load your file: see Your uploaded Enshrouded world did not load.

Last saved moves forward while players are on, and again when the server stops. The badge on the card says Saving as you play while the server runs.

3. In the game

Join the server and look for your bases, your chests and the time of day you left. See How to join your Enshrouded server.

If it is the wrong world

Stop the server and do not play. Every save overwrites the world. Then restore your backup: see How to back up and restore your Enshrouded world.
