The Worlds page refuses your Enshrouded world file

The Upload a world window checks your file before it changes anything. If it shows a red message, your server and its world are untouched. Find the message below, pick the right file, and click Choose file again.

The messages

The window saysWhat it meansFix
That is a small file that goes with a world, not the world itself. Choose the file with the same name and no ending.You picked a file ending in -index or _info.Pick the file with the same name and no ending.
That file is not an Enshrouded 1.0 world. If it is a world from before 1.0, open it once in Enshrouded 1.0 on your PC, close the game, then choose the file again.It is a save from before Enshrouded 1.0.Open the world once in Enshrouded 1.0 on your PC, close the game, and pick the file again. The game converts it.
That file is not an Enshrouded world. Choose world0.ksd from a server's savegame folder, or your world's file from the save folder on your PC.It is some other file.Check the folder: How to upload your own Enshrouded world.
That world file is incomplete: it is shorter than the world it holds. Take a new copy of it and try again.The file was cut off, for example by a download that did not finish or a copy made while the game was writing it.Close the game, or stop the old server, and copy the file again.
That file is larger than ... MB, which no Enshrouded world is.The limit is 512 MB. The file is not a world file, or not only one.Pick the single world file, not a folder packed into a .zip.
That file is empty. Choose your world file and upload it again.The file has nothing in it.Copy it again from your PC or the old server.

The server checks the file again after the upload. Its messages say the same and add that nothing was changed. That file is empty only comes from that second check.

Other messages

  • A rewind or an upload is already on its way. Wait until the server is back, then try again. Another rewind, undo or upload is still running. Wait for its card at the top of the Worlds page to finish.
  • The uploaded file was not found. Upload it again. The upload did not arrive, for example because the page was closed or the connection dropped. Upload again and keep the page open until it is sent.
  • That file name cannot be used. Upload the file again from this page. Rename the file on your PC to letters, digits, spaces, dots, dashes and underscores, then upload it again.

Which file is my world?

  • From your PC: close the game, then look in C:\Users\<your Windows name>\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\default. If you use Steam Cloud, the game keeps a second copy in Steam\userdata\<your Steam user ID>\1203620\remote. Take the file for the world you play, changed most recently, and not one ending in -index or _info.
  • From another host: stop the server there and download world0.ksd from its savegame folder. See How to move your Enshrouded world from another host.

Still refused

Open a ticket with the message, the file's name and size, and where it came from. If the upload went through but the world is not the one you expected, see Your uploaded Enshrouded world did not load.
