Enshrouded keeps the last ten versions of your world as it saves, which covers about the last hour of play. If a base is lost to a mistake, a griefer or a bad fight, you can step the world back to one of them from the Worlds page, without any backup.
Open the Worlds page
Open your server in the panel and click Worlds in the left menu, right under Overview.

The page has three parts: Your world (the world the server plays now), What a rewind does, and the timeline of Earlier copies, newest first.

Rewind the world
- Under Earlier copies, find the time you want. Each copy shows the clock time the game saved it, how long ago that was and its size. The latest one is marked Newest.
- Click Rewind to this next to that copy. On a phone the button says Rewind.
- The window Rewind to the copy saved ...? shows the copy you picked and the four steps of a rewind. Click Rewind.

A progress card at the top of the page follows the rewind:
- Stopping and saving your world: the server stops, which saves your world as it is now, and that world is kept.
- Putting the copy in place: the copy you chose becomes your world.
- Starting the server: the server starts again.
Players are disconnected until the server is back, about a minute. You can leave the page while it runs. When it is done, the panel says Done. Your world is back to the copy saved at and the time.
If the server was already stopped, only the copy is put in place and the server stays stopped. Start it when you are ready.
Characters, with their levels and inventories, are kept on each player's own computer, so a rewind changes the world and bases, not the characters.
Undo a rewind
After a rewind, a card at the top of the page says Your world from before the last rewind is kept, with the time it was saved. If you went back too far, or picked the wrong copy:
- Click Undo the last rewind on that card.
- Confirm with Undo rewind.
The world from before the rewind comes back the same way, and the panel says Done. The last rewind is undone and your world is back as it was. Only the world from before the latest rewind is kept. It sits in a folder called world-before-rewind in the server's main folder. Leave that folder alone.
If it takes long
If the server has not come back after about four minutes, the card says This is taking longer than usual. Open the Console to see what the server is doing. If the server never stopped, your world was not changed and you can try again. Stop following only hides the card; it does not cancel anything.
Good to know
- You need permission to restart the server to rewind. Anyone with file access can see the page.
- The badge on Your world shows Saving as you play while the server runs, and Server offline while it is stopped.
- The list shows No earlier copies yet on a server nobody has played on, because the game makes copies as it saves while players are on.
- If a copy has gone when you click, the game has replaced it as it saved. Refresh the page and pick again.
- The copies cover a short time. For older points, use your panel backups: see How to back up and restore your Enshrouded world.
- Each rewind is written to the server's Activity log.
