Players call votes from the vote menu in the game. A new server already offers a vote for every map in data/maps and a few options. Change the list and the vote rules with lines in myServerconfig.cfg under Files, then restart the server.
The votes a new server has
- A vote for every map in
data/maps, the maps that come with DDNet and yours. A map you upload joins this list at the next start. - Options that come with DDNet: normal, moon and no gravity, and
Option: Reset server, which runs the game's start file again. - No vote to shut the server down. PlayNHost removes DDNet's "Shutdown server" vote, so players cannot vote your server off.
To offer a newly uploaded map before the next restart, use the raised-hand button on the Maps page: How to switch the map or add map votes on your DDNet server.
Add your own votes
Add an add_vote line to myServerconfig.cfg: the text players see, then the command it runs, both in quotes.
add_vote "Event map: Gold Mine" "change_map \"Gold Mine\""
add_vote "Option: Reload the map" "reload"
Inside the command, put \" around a map name with spaces. Each vote text must be different from every other vote, including the Map: votes the server makes for each map.
How to edit the file: How to add your own settings to your DDNet server.
Remove votes
- One vote:
remove_vote "Option: Moon gravity", with the exact vote text. - Every vote:
clear_votes, the map votes included. Put it before your ownadd_votelines, so your list is the only one. Add a lineadd_map_votesafter it if you still want a vote for every map.
In the Console, votes lists the votes the server has now.

Good to know
- A vote for a map with a very long name may be refused by DDNet. Give the map a shorter name.
