How to close your account

Account & securityUpdated Oct 5, 20263 min read

You can ask us to close your account at any time. Closing is permanent, so take these steps in order.

1. Download what you want to keep

Closing the account deletes your servers, files, backups and keys. Download your worlds and configuration first. See How to create, download and restore backups and How to connect to your server files with SFTP.

2. Cancel your plans

Closing the account does not stop billing on its own. Cancel the plans on your servers first.

For each server, cancel its plan so it does not renew. See How to cancel or pause your plan. If you also set up a recurring payment with your payment provider, cancel that too.

3. Use or keep your credit

Unspent account credit buys PlayNHost services only and is not paid out. An unspent top-up can be refunded within 14 days. See How to use account credit and redeem a gift card.

4. Ask us to close it

  1. Open the panel, click Account, then Close my account at the bottom of the left menu.
  2. The window Close your account? explains what happens and says it cannot be undone. (Its Contact support to close it button does not open the ticket page at the moment, so use the Support menu instead.)
  3. Close the window and click Support in the top menu. Open a ticket in the category Account & login asking us to close the account. See How to open a support ticket.

You cannot close the account from that window by yourself. A person on our team handles it.

What we keep

Invoices are kept for tax reasons. Everything else is deleted: servers, files, backups and keys.

Changed your mind?

Tell us in the ticket before we finish. After the account is closed, its data cannot be recovered. You can always create a new account later. See How to create your PlayNHost account and sign in.
