The Active players card on the Overview page shows who is on your Valheim server. With PlayNHost Tools on, which is the default, each player is listed by name, with a menu to kick, ban, make admin or allow them. With the tools off, the card shows a count only.
Open the card
- Open your server in the panel. Active players is on the Overview page.
- Each row is one player, with their character name. When nobody is on, it says Nobody is online.
- The ... menu at the end of a row has Copy name, Kick, Make admin or Remove admin, Allow or Remove from allowed, and Ban. Which entries show follows what the player already is.

At the top of the card, Announce sends a message to everyone, and Access opens the admin, ban and allow lists.
With PlayNHost Tools off
The card shows how many people are on, for example 2 players are playing. This server does not publish their names., and a line under it: Turn on PlayNHost Tools in Settings to see who is online by name, and to kick, ban and announce from here. See How to turn on PlayNHost Tools on your Valheim server.
Without the tools the count comes from the server's Console. Without crossplay it can be up to ten minutes old, because the game only prints the exact number every ten minutes.
When the card cannot tell
It can say that the panel cannot tell who is on right now. That is normal while the server is starting or stopped. If the tools are on and the server has run for a few minutes, see The Valheim players card says PlayNHost Tools are not answering.
