How many players can join your Valheim server

Valheim supports 1 to 10 players on a server. The panel has no player slot setting for Valheim, because the game decides the limit. The Players row on the Overview page shows the slot count your plan carries, or Unlimited, and the Active players card shows who is on.

See the limit and who is online

1. Open your server in the panel. The server card on Overview has a Players row. For Valheim it has no pencil icon, because there is nothing to change.

Why you cannot change the slots

Some games have a setting for the number of players, and the panel offers a pencil for it. Valheim's server has no such option for the panel to set, so the panel does not offer one. A bigger plan gives the server more memory, which helps when the world gets big or you add mods, but it is not a way to add player slots. See How much RAM does a Valheim server need?.

Choose who gets in

With a fixed number of places, you may want to decide who uses them. The allow list under Access lets in only the players on it: How to ban players or allow only some players on your Valheim server.

If a friend cannot join

A full server is not the only reason. Check the address, the password and the game version: Valheim players cannot join by address.
