How to kick or ban a player on your Valheim server

Open the Overview page, click ... on the player's row in Active players, and choose Kick or Ban. A kicked player can rejoin straight away. A banned player is removed and cannot rejoin until you lift the ban under Access. Kicking needs PlayNHost Tools, which are on by default.

Kick a player

1. Open your server in the panel. On Overview, find the player on the Active players card.
2. Click ... at the end of their row and choose Kick.
3. The window Kick player shows the server's name and the player's ID. You can type a Reason (optional), up to 100 characters on one line.
4. Click Kick. A message says Kicked and the name, and They can rejoin straight away.

Ban a player who is online

1. Click ... on their row and choose Ban.
2. The window Ban player says: They are removed now and cannot rejoin. You can lift it under Access on this card, even while the server is stopped. Add a reason if you like.
3. Click Ban. A message says Banned and the name.

The ban goes on the server's ban list, so it lasts across restarts.

Ban a player who is offline

1. On the Active players card, click Access, then the Banned tab.
2. Type the player's ID in Add by player ID, and a reason if you like.
3. Click Ban. If they are online, they are removed within seconds; otherwise they cannot join.

No menu on a row

• The menu appears for each player the panel can identify. A player who has just connected and not yet spawned may show up a moment later.
• With PlayNHost Tools off, the card shows a count and no rows. You can still ban by ID under Access, and the game removes a banned player within about 15 seconds. To kick, turn the tools on: How to turn on PlayNHost Tools on your Valheim server.
• You need the Use the console permission to kick and ban, and the file permissions Read contents and Create and upload to use Access. Ask the server owner if the buttons are missing.
