The Valheim players card says PlayNHost Tools are not answering

PlayNHost Tools are on but not answering, so names, kick and announce are unavailable. Restart the server to bring them back. The tools could not start, or stopped answering, on this run. Restart the server. Your world and players are not affected, and Access keeps working.

Fix it

1. Open your server in the panel.
2. Restart the server from the power menu.
3. Wait for Online, then about half a minute more. The Active players card names the players again and shows Announce.

Check the Console

1. Open the Console and choose Since last start.

2. Search for playnhost.

   • [playnhost-bridge] ready v1.0.0 means the tools started. If the card still says they are not answering a few minutes later, restart once more.
   • [playnhost] PlayNHost tools are off for this start: and a reason means the start went ahead without them. Restart; if the same line comes back, open a ticket with that line.
   • No line at all: the server's start command may be older than the tools. Open a ticket and ask for PlayNHost Tools on your Valheim server.

What still works without them

• Access: admins, bans and the allow list. A ban removes an online player within about 15 seconds instead of at once.
• The join code, the Worlds page, the Mods page, backups and schedules.
• Restarts happen without the in-game warning, and backups without the save first.

Other lines on the card

• The server is stopped, or PlayNHost Tools are not answering, so nobody is shown as online. in Access: start the server.
• Turn on PlayNHost Tools in Settings to see who is online by name means the switch is off: How to turn on PlayNHost Tools on your Valheim server.
• A newer version of PlayNHost Tools starts with the next restart. is not a problem: the update arrives with your next restart.
