Your players join your DayZ server with its Server Address, shown on the server's Overview page in the panel. DayZ is a multiplayer survival game set in a zombie-infested world, and a hosted server gives you and your friends a private or community world with your own rules and password.
Join in a few steps
- Open your server in the panel. If the status badge says Offline, click Start and wait until it says Online. See How to start, stop, restart and force-stop your server.
- On the Overview page, click the copy icon next to Server Address. It looks like
address:port.

- Launch DayZ from Steam. Make sure your game is up to date, because the server only accepts the same game version it runs.
- Open the game's server browser and search for your server by its Server Name, or use the game's option to connect by address and port and enter the Server Address from your Overview page.
- If you set a Server Password, enter it when asked to join.
Ports
Players join with the address and port shown in the Server Address on the Overview page. The Steam Query Port (used for the server list) and the RCON Port (used only by remote admin tools) are separate, come with your server, and cannot be changed in the settings; players do not type them.
Game version
By default, Enforce Game Version is ON, so a player whose game build differs from the server's is refused. With Automatic Updates ON, the server checks for and installs updates every time it starts, so restart it after DayZ updates to bring it in line with players' clients.
If you cannot join
- The server must be Online. Check the badge at the top of the page.
- Copy the address again from the panel. A missing or mistyped port is the most common cause.
- Make sure every player runs a compatible game version.
- Check the password, if you set one. See How to set up your DayZ server.
