These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost Core Keeper server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings
| Setting | What it does | Allowed | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| World Index | Which save slot the server loads. 0 is the first world. Keep several worlds on one server by giving each its own index and switching between them here. Default: 0. | a number of at least 0 | 0 |
| World Name | The name of your world, shown in-game. Default: Core Keeper Server. | 3 to 100 characters, no double quotes or backslashes | Core Keeper Server |
| World Seed | The number your world's terrain is generated from. The same seed always builds the same world, so change it if you want a layout nobody else starts on. Only read the first time a world is created. To build a fresh world from a new seed, also point World Index at an unused slot. Default: 0. | a number of at least 0 | 0 |
| Game ID | The code friends use to find your server - Core Keeper players join by Game ID rather than by IP address. Between 15 and 28 characters, letters and numbers only, excluding Y, y, x, 0 and O. Leave this empty and the server picks a code for you and prints it in the Console tab; set your own here if you would rather the code never change. | 15 to 28 characters, letters and numbers, not Y, y, x, 0 or O | empty |
| Hard mode | Off = normal world, On = hard mode. Read when the world is first created. | on or off | off |
| Auto Update | Check for a game update each time the server starts. Turn this off only if you need to stay on a specific build for mod compatibility. | on or off | on |
| Max Players (read only) | The player limit included with your plan. This field is read-only. To run with fewer players, click Players on your server overview and pick any number up to your plan limit - you can raise it back whenever you like. Upgrading your plan raises the limit itself. | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
Good to know
- Settings are read when the server starts, so restart after changing one. World Name, World Seed and Hard mode only matter the first time a world is created. After that they have no effect on that world.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- To open the page, follow How to set up your Core Keeper server or How to change your server settings.
