Your players join your ARK: Survival Ascended server with its Server Address, shown on the server's Overview page in the panel. ARK: Survival Ascended is the Unreal Engine 5 remake of ARK where you tame and breed dinosaurs and build a base on a shared island, and a hosted server keeps that world and your tribe's progress running around the clock; it is a separate game from ARK: Survival Evolved, so worlds, mods and clients are not interchangeable between the two.
Join in a few steps
- Open your server in the panel. If the status badge says Offline, click Start and wait until it says Online. See How to start, stop, restart and force-stop your server.
- On the Overview page, click the copy icon next to Server Address. It looks like
address:port.
- Launch ARK: Survival Ascended (the Survival Ascended game, not Survival Evolved).
- Open the multiplayer server list and find the list of unofficial or player-run servers, which is where dedicated servers like yours appear.
- Search for your Server Name exactly as set in your server settings (the default name is shown in your settings until you change it).
- Select your server and join. If you set a Server Password, enter it when asked.
- Once you are in, you play on the map your server is running (The Island by default).
Ports
Players only use the port in the Server Address on the Overview page. The server uses other ports internally; you never type them or change them.
Game version
Auto Update is on by default: the server checks for a new game version every time it starts, so restart the server after a game patch. Turn Auto Update off only if you must stay on a specific build for mod compatibility. The first start after an update can take a while.
If you cannot join
- The server must be Online. Check the badge at the top of the page.
- Copy the address again from the panel. A missing or mistyped port is the most common cause.
- Make sure every player runs a compatible game version.
