How many players can join an ARK: Survival Ascended server?

ARK: Survival AscendedUpdated Oct 29, 20263 min read

On PlayNHost, the number of players who can join your ARK: Survival Ascended server at once is the number of player slots in your plan. You can run with fewer at any time with Edit slots on the Overview page, and raise it again up to your plan's limit.

Where the limit comes from

  • Your plan sets the most slots your server can have. The panel passes that number to the game when the server starts.
  • Edit slots on the Active players card lets you pick any number up to that limit: How to change player slots on your ARK: Survival Ascended server.
  • The game itself: the ARK wiki gives 70 as ARK's default player limit when nothing sets one. On PlayNHost your plan always sets one.

What many players need

ARK: Survival Ascended uses a lot of memory before anyone joins, and each player, tame and base adds to it. Watch the RAM graph under Usage on Overview with your players on: How much RAM does an ARK: Survival Ascended server need?
