How to install a Thunderstore modpack on your Valheim server

The quickest way to put a modpack on your server is the Mods page. If you play the pack in r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, export it there as a profile code and import that code under Profiles. Or find the pack on Browse Thunderstore and click Install: the window lists every mod it brings before you confirm. Then click Apply and restart.

Way 1: import the pack as a profile code

1. In r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, select the profile that has the pack, and choose Settings, Profile, Export profile as code. Copy the code.
2. In the panel, open the Modding tab, then Profiles, and click Import a profile code.
3. Paste the code in Profile code and click Read the profile.
4. Check the list of changes, and which config files of the profile should be written. Click Import with the number of mods.
5. Click Apply and restart on the side card.

Way 2: install the pack from Thunderstore

1. Open the Modding tab, then Browse Thunderstore, and search for the pack's name.
2. Click Install. The window Add lists every mod the pack brings, each with Adds and Needed by.
3. Read the list and the notes, then click Add to the mod list.
4. Click Apply and restart.

A pack counts as one of your mods; the mods it brings show under Installed because your mods need them. Removing the pack offers to remove them too. The mod loader itself is never added, because your server type already has it.

Players

The older ModPack setting

On the Valheim BepInEx type, Settings, Game Settings still has a ModPack option, written as Author-Pack-1.0.0. It carries the badge Applies on reinstall: it is read only when the server is installed, so a restart does not apply it, and the panel has no reinstall button for it. When it runs, it replaces what is in BepInEx/plugins/. Use the Mods page instead. If you need the ModPack way, open a ticket after a backup.
