Export your profile as a code in r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, then on the Mods page open Profiles, click Import a profile code, paste it and click Read the profile. Check the changes and the config files, click Import, then Apply and restart. Your current list is saved as a profile first, so you can switch back.
Step 1: get the code
In r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, select the profile you play with, then choose Settings, Profile, Export profile as code. Copy the code it shows. These are the steps the panel's import window gives.
Step 2: import it
- Open your server in the panel and click the Modding tab, then Profiles.
- Under Import an r2modman profile, click Import a profile code.
- Paste the code in Profile code and click Read the profile.
- The window shows the profile's name and how many changes it makes to your list: mods it adds and changes, and under Leaves your list the mods it would remove.
- Under Config files in this profile, tick the files you want. Ticked files are written to
BepInEx/config. Each says Replaces your file, New file or Same as yours; Show lets you look at one before it replaces yours. - Click Import with the number of mods.
The message says the profile was imported, Your previous list is saved under Profiles. It takes effect at the next start.
Step 3: apply it
Click Apply and restart on the side card On this server. The Console shows each mod as it is installed. Then check Your mods: How to check that your Valheim mods loaded.
If the import is refused
- A mod the profile lists is no longer on Thunderstore: the window says so, and Import stays greyed out. Remove that mod from your profile in r2modman, export again and retry.
- The import saves two profiles: your list from before, named
Before importand the date, and the imported one. A server keeps up to 20 profiles, so if you have many, delete old ones under Profiles first. - Codes are kept by Thunderstore for a limited time. If the code is old, export a new one.
Good to know
- The mod loader in the profile is left out, because your server type already has it.
- Files in the profile that are not config files are left out, and the window lists them.
- To go back, open Profiles and click Switch to this on the
Before importprofile: How to use mod profiles on your Valheim server.
