You can bring a Soulmask world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.
Back up first. Uploading a world with the same name as the one on the server replaces it. Create a backup of the current world (see How to create, download and restore backups), stop the server, and keep your own original files until the server loads the new world.
Upload and load your world
- Only upload a world.db that was made by a Soulmask dedicated server running the base map (Level01_Main). A world from a different map will not load on this server. Moving a single-player world is not covered here, so if you only have one, open a ticket first.
- Stop the server.
- In Files open WS, then Saved, then Worlds, then Dedicated, then Level01_Main.
- Upload your world.db into that folder. If a file named world.db is already there, the upload replaces it and the current world is lost, so download the old one first.
- Start the server and join to check your world and buildings are there.
Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.
Start a fresh world
Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.
- Stop the server.
- Download world.db from WS, then Saved, then Worlds, then Dedicated, then Level01_Main so you can go back.
- Delete world.db. This permanently removes the whole world: all buildings, tribes, followers and player progress stored on the server.
- Start the server. It creates a fresh world and everyone starts again.
