A blueprint wipe, or BP wipe, is the Map and blueprint wipe on your server's Wipe page. It deletes the world, everything built in it and every blueprint players have learned, so everyone starts from the beginning of the tech tree. Admins, bans, settings and plugins stay.
What it deletes and keeps
| Map wipe | Map and blueprint wipe | |
|---|---|---|
| The world and everything built in it | deleted | deleted |
| Blueprints players have learned | kept | deleted |
| Admins, bans, settings and plugins | kept | kept |
For a full reset of every player record too (deaths, carried items, clans and painted signs), use Full wipe instead: How to wipe your Rust server.

On forced wipe day
When Facepunch announces a blueprint wipe for the month, use the ready-made schedule Force wipe (map and blueprints) on Quick Tasks. The panel says it is Only for a month when Facepunch announces a blueprint wipe; switch off Force wipe (map only) for that month.
- Click Quick Tasks in the left menu.
- In Ready-made for Rust, click Add next to Force wipe (map and blueprints). It arrives switched off.
- Under Schedules, switch it on, and switch Force wipe (map only) off for this month.
- After the wipe, switch Force wipe (map and blueprints) off and Force wipe (map only) on again, ready for next month.
It warns players in the game 10, 5 and 1 minutes ahead, stops the server at 21:00 panel time (20:00 London time), takes a backup, wipes, and starts the server again. See How to get your Rust server ready for forced wipe day.
Good to know
- Never switch on both force wipes in the same month.
- The backup made before the wipe holds the blueprints, so you can go back: How to undo a wipe on your Rust server.
- Plugin data, such as kits or shop balances, is not part of a wipe. Delete its data file in Files if you want it reset too: How to change plugin settings and permissions on your Rust server.
- After the wipe, the Activity log says
Ran a blueprints wipe.
