How to see who is online on your Project Zomboid server

Project ZomboidUpdated Oct 18, 20263 min read

The Active players card on the Overview page lists the players who are on your Project Zomboid server now, with a count such as 2 / 8. Each name has an actions menu for kick, ban, access level and whitelist. The list only works while the server is running.

Read the card

  1. Open your server in the panel and stay on Overview.
  2. Find the card Active players. The count is the number online and the limit of your plan or the number you set with Edit slots.
  3. Names are listed below. When the game answers the panel directly, each name also shows how long that player has been connected. When the panel has to ask over the remote console, the names appear without a time.

What you can do from the card

If the card says Nobody is online

It means the server answered and nobody is playing. Players who join appear here.

If the card says No answer from the server

The card says "The panel reads who is on from the server console and cannot tell right now: the server is starting or stopped, or it restarted while the panel was not recording. The list comes back after the next restart." Wait until the badge says Online and the Console has printed RCON: listening on port. If the server is online and the card still has no answer, see The Active players card says No answer from the server on Project Zomboid.

From the Console

Type players in the Console and the game prints Players connected (n): followed by one name per line: How to use the Console on your Project Zomboid server.
