You can bring a Necesse world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.
Back up first. Uploading a world with the same name as the one on the server replaces it. Create a backup of the current world (see How to create, download and restore backups), stop the server, and keep your own original files until the server loads the new world.
Upload and load your world
- If your world's zip name has spaces or is longer than 20 characters, rename the zip on your computer first. Save Name accepts at most 20 characters and no spaces.
- Stop the server.
- Open Files and go into the saves folder.
- Upload your world zip. Keep it as a zip and do not unpack it. If a zip with the same name is already there, the upload replaces it and the old world in that file is lost, so download it first if you want to keep it.
- Go to Settings, then Game Settings and set Save Name to the zip's name without the .zip ending, exactly as written.
- Start the server. It loads the world with that name. If it starts a new empty world instead, check that Save Name matches the zip name exactly, including capital letters.
Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.
Start a fresh world
Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.
- Back up the current world zip first (download it from the saves folder).
- Go to Settings, then Game Settings and set Save Name to a new name that is not already in the saves folder. The server creates a fresh world with that name on the next start, and your old world stays in its zip untouched.
- Restart the server and wait a little longer than usual on first start while the new world is generated.
- To get the old world back, set Save Name to its original name. To delete a world for good, delete its zip from the saves folder, which removes all buildings, items and progress in it.
