How to become admin on your Core Keeper server

Core KeeperUpdated Oct 5, 20262 min read
  1. Find your Steam64 ID (a long number, not your Steam name). Sites such as steamid.io show it.
  2. Stop the server, then in Files open .config/unity3d/Pugstorm/Core Keeper/DedicatedServer/Admins.json (the folder name starts with a dot, so look near the top of the list or use the Files search box). If the file is missing, start the server once so it is created, then stop it. If you still cannot find it, open a support ticket.
  3. Keep a copy of the file, then add an entry for yourself inside the square brackets, in this form with your own character name and Steam64 ID: {"index": 1, "privileges": 1, "name": "YourCharacterName", "steamId": 76561198000000000}. Use the next number for index if there are entries already, and separate several entries with commas.
  4. Save the file and start the server again. Admin changes only apply after a restart.
  5. Once you are an admin, you can promote other players without touching the file: open the pause menu while connected and make them an admin from the player list. Admins can also ban players from the pause menu.
