These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost Squad server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings

|---|---|---|---|
| Server Name | The name shown in the server browser and to joining players. | up to 80 characters on one line, no double quotes | A PlaynHost Server |
| Allow Team Change | Allow players to switch teams. | on or off | on |
| Advertise Server | List this server publicly in the in-game server browser. Turn off only for a private server, and ask support before you do, because players will then not find it by searching for its name. | on or off | on |
| Reserved Slots | Slots held back for admins and moderators. These count against your plan limit. | a number from 0 to 10 | set by your plan |
| Prevent Team Change If Unbalanced | Block team switches that would unbalance the teams. | on or off | on |
| Enforce Team Balance | Force players onto the smaller team when the imbalance grows too large. | on or off | on |
| Record Demos | Record server-side demos of matches. | on or off | on |
| Download Workshops Items | Steam Workshop mod IDs separated by commas. Only read when the server files are installed. Do not use it on a running server. See How to add mods to your Squad server. | Workshop mod IDs (numbers) separated by commas | empty |
| Auto Update | Check for a game update each time the server starts, so your server stays on the build players are running. Squad is a large install, so the first start after a patch takes a while; a start with nothing to download only costs a few seconds. Turn this off only if you are deliberately holding a build. | on or off | on |
| Max Players (read only) | The player limit included with your plan. | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
Good to know
- Changes to the settings in Settings, then Game Settings are written into the server's main settings file on every start, so restart the server to apply them. Because of that, do not edit those same lines by hand in the file, your edit will be replaced. Other options such as the map rotation mode, server tags, server messages and message of the day are set by editing the files in the ServerConfig folder (inside SquadGame, inside Files). Stop the server before editing, save, then start it again.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- To open the page, follow How to set up your Squad server or How to change your server settings.
