You can bring a Space Engineers world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.
Uploading a world means deleting the world that is on the server now, so the two are not mixed. Make a panel backup first and stop the server, and keep your own original files until the server loads the new world.
Upload and load your world
- Stop the server and make a panel backup of the current world first (Backups, then Start backup). If you also want a copy on your PC, download the backup from the Backups page.
- On your PC, find the world folder in your single-player saves. On Windows it is in AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves, then a folder named after your Steam ID, then your world's folder. You can also copy it from another dedicated server.
- In Files, open config/Saves. Check the World Name setting in Settings, then Game Settings: the server only loads the folder with that exact name, and World Name cannot be changed.
- Delete the old files inside the folder named after your World Name, so the two worlds are not mixed. This permanently removes the current world from the server, apart from your backup.
- Upload your world's files into that folder, so that Sandbox.sbc sits directly inside it.
- Start the server. Game Mode, player slots, save interval, scripts and experimental mode are set from your panel settings at every start, so they override what the uploaded world had. Mods come from the Steam Workshop Mod IDs setting. If the world does not load, open a support ticket.
Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.
Start a fresh world
Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.
- Stop the server and make a panel backup first. A fresh world replaces your current world, its builds and its saved progress.
- Replace the files inside that folder with a new world (for example a fresh world created in single-player, with Sandbox.sbc directly inside the folder). Remove the old files so the two worlds are not mixed.
- Start the server and check the world loads before inviting players.
