How to upload your own Satisfactory world

SatisfactoryUpdated Oct 5, 20263 min read

You can bring a Satisfactory world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.

Back up first. The upload is done from inside the game, so the server must be running. Download your current saves first, because an upload with the same name replaces a save, and keep your own original save until the server loads it.

Upload and load your world

  1. Back up the current world first, with the server stopped, then start the server again. The upload itself is done from inside the game, so the server must be running for it. An upload replaces a save with the same name.
  2. Connect from the game's Server Manager (claim the server first if needed).
  3. Open the server's Manage Saves tab and upload a save from your own game. A save with the same name as an existing one replaces it, so download the existing save first if you want to keep it.
  4. Load the uploaded save from that tab so the session starts from it.
  5. Do not copy a .sav file into the SaveGames folder by hand through Files. That route is untested, so use Manage Saves.

Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.

Start a fresh world

Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.

  1. Download the SaveGames folder from Files first as a backup, because the next steps permanently delete your factory and every save in it.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. In Files, open .config, Epic, FactoryGame, Saved, SaveGames, then the server folder, and delete the .sav files inside it. This removes all saves and autosaves. Blueprints are kept.
  4. Start the server again. It comes back with no world, and the claimed server name and administrator password are kept.
  5. Connect from the game and create a new game from the server's Create Game tab, because the server cannot generate a world on its own.

See How to back up and restore your Satisfactory world.
