Mods come from ficsit.app (the Satisfactory Mod Repository). They need the Satisfactory Mod Loader, which the server installs for you along with any mod it depends on. Only mods that have a dedicated server build are accepted.
Back up first. See How to back up and restore your Satisfactory world.
Add a mod
- Find the mod on ficsit.app and copy its Mod Reference.
- Enter one or more references, separated by commas, in the ficsit.app mods setting under Settings, then Game Settings, for example RefinedPower, LoadBalancers.
- Turn Automatic Updates off while you run mods, so that a game update does not outrun the mod loader. While it is off the server stays on its current game version, so turn it on again if players cannot join after a game update.
- Restart the server. The mod loader and dependencies are downloaded to match the game version the server runs, and are checked again at every start.
- Alternatively, upload a mod's Linux server build by hand into the FactoryGame/Mods folder in Files. Mods uploaded this way are never touched by the ficsit.app mods list.
