How to set up your Palworld server with a preset

PalworldUpdated Oct 16, 20263 min read

On the Gameplay Settings page, Start from a preset sets a group of settings in one click. Each preset changes only the settings it is about and keeps the rest of your setup.

PresetWhat it does
Palworld defaultsEvery setting on the page back to the value Palworld ships with. Server name, passwords and crossplay are not changed.
CasualDouble experience, gathering and drops, easier captures, eggs hatch in 30 minutes, hunger and stamina drain at half speed, nothing dropped on death.
Fast progression (3x)Three times the experience, gathering and drops, twice the work speed and capture rate, eggs hatch in 15 minutes.
HardcoreNo respawn, Pals in your party are lost on death, everything is dropped, 50% more damage taken. Players can make a new character after dying.
PvPPlayer damage on, base defences attack other guilds, other guilds can pick up what a player drops on death. Friendly fire stays off.
Lighter server20% fewer wild Pals, 10 workers per base instead of 15, dropped items capped at 1,500 and cleared after 30 minutes. For busy worlds that lag or run short of memory.

Apply a preset

  1. Open Settings, then Gameplay Settings under Config files.
  2. Under Start from a preset, pick one and apply it.
  3. Restart the server for the new settings to take effect.

If nothing changes in the game, your world probably has its own settings file (WorldOption.sav), which Palworld reads instead. The Worlds page marks such a world. See How to upload your own Palworld world.
