How to make your Palworld server private with a whitelist

PalworldUpdated Oct 16, 20263 min read

Palworld itself has no whitelist. PlayNHost adds one: while it is on, only the players on your list can stay on the server. Anyone else is kicked within about 10 seconds of joining, with the message "This server is whitelisted."

A server password keeps strangers out too, but anyone you give it to can pass it on. The whitelist goes by each player's Palworld user ID, so it cannot be shared.

Turn the whitelist on

  1. Start your server and join it yourself first, so the panel can see you.
  2. On Overview, click Whitelist on the Active players card.
  3. Under Online now, not on the list, click Add beside your name and beside each friend who is online.
  4. Switch Whitelist on.

The panel will not turn the whitelist on while it is empty, and will not remove the last player while it is on, so you cannot lock everyone out by accident.

Add someone who is not online

Type their user ID in Add by user ID and click Add. A Steam player's ID is steam_ followed by their 17-digit Steam ID, for example steam_76561198000000000. Console players' IDs are easiest to add while they are online.

Remove someone or turn it off

Click Remove beside a player, or switch Whitelist on off. Changes apply within about 10 seconds, and you can edit the list while the server is stopped.
