You can bring a Palworld world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.
Back up first. Uploading a world with the same name as the one on the server replaces it. Create a backup of the current world (see How to create, download and restore backups), stop the server, and keep your own original files until the server loads the new world.
Upload and load your world
- Create a backup of your current world first on the Backups page. Your uploaded world is placed next to it, and a folder with the same name replaces the existing one.
- Stop the server from the panel and make sure it is fully offline.
- If the server has never started, start it once so the game creates its folders, then stop it again.
- In Files open Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/ and upload your world folder there (it must contain Level.sav, LevelMeta.sav and the Players folder).
- Open Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini and set DedicatedServerName= to exactly the name of the folder you uploaded (same letters and capitals, no quotes). The server loads the world named there.
- Start the server and join. If it still starts a fresh world, check the spelling and capitals of that name, then ask support.
- Saves from a single-player or co-op game usually need converting first, because the host character is tied to a local ID. That conversion is done outside the panel, so ask support before uploading one.
Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.
Start a fresh world
Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.
- Create a backup first on the Backups page if you might want the old world back.
- Stop the server from the panel.
- Open Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/ in Files and delete only the active world folder, the one named in DedicatedServerName in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini. This permanently deletes that world, with its bases, Pals and player progress.
- Do not use the panel's World Reset task for this: it deletes every world folder on the server.
- Start the server; the game creates a new world on boot.
