- Find your Klei User ID, which looks like KU_ followed by letters and numbers. In the game's main menu click the Account button at the bottom left, and your Klei User ID is on the USER INFO page that opens in your browser.
- Stop the server from the panel.
- Open Files and go to DoNotStarveTogether/config/server, the folder that holds cluster.ini.
- Create a new file there named adminlist.txt if it is not already there, and open it.
- Type your Klei User ID on its own line. Add one line for each extra admin. Do not add anything else to the lines.
- Save the file and start the server.
- Join the server. To run admin commands, press the tilde key (~) to open the in-game console and switch it to remote mode with the Ctrl key, so the command runs on the server.
Useful admin commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
c_save() | Forces the server to save the world now. The server also saves by itself after each night. |
c_rollback(1) | Goes back to the save before the latest one. Anything done since that save is lost. The number is how many saves to go back. |
c_announce("Restarting in 5 minutes") | Shows a message to every player. Put the message in double quotes and leave double quotes out of the message itself. |
c_listallplayers() | Lists the connected players with their names and numbers. |
TheNet:Kick(userid) | Removes a player from the server. Replace userid with the player's Klei User ID in quotes, for example "KU_aabbccdd". |
TheNet:Ban(userid) | Removes a player and blocks them for good. Use their Klei User ID in quotes. |
The admin list is a file you edit in Files. c_save() also works in the panel Console tab. For every other command, including TheNet:Kick, TheNet:Ban, c_rollback, c_announce and c_listallplayers, use the in-game console as an admin in remote mode. See How to use the console and run commands.
