You can bring a Conan Exiles world you already have, from your own computer or another host, to your PlayNHost server.
Uploading a world database removes the world that is on the server now. Create a backup first and stop the server. Keep your own original file until the server loads the new world.
Upload and load your world
- Stop the server from the panel.
- In Files, open ConanSandbox/Saved and download the current world .db file as a backup. If the server has never started there is no .db yet; start it once, then stop it.
- Delete only the files ending in .db in ConanSandbox/Saved. Do not delete the Config folder or anything else. This removes the current world, every base and every character from the server, apart from your backup.
- Upload your existing world database (for example the game.db from a single-player game or an old server) into ConanSandbox/Saved, using the same file name as the .db you just downloaded.
- Start the server and join to check your character and base are there. If the server does not load your world or starts a new one, open a support ticket and say which file you uploaded.
- Remember that an old Legacy database can be read by the Enhanced server but an Enhanced world cannot be taken back to Legacy.
Large files are best uploaded with SFTP. See How to connect to your server files with SFTP and How to upload, edit and manage your server files.
Start a fresh world
Starting fresh can permanently remove the current world. Back it up first.
- Stop the server from the panel.
- Download the world .db file from ConanSandbox/Saved as a backup first.
- Delete only the files ending in .db in ConanSandbox/Saved. Do not delete the Config folder. This removes the world, every base and every character for good, apart from your backup.
- Start the server. It creates a fresh world and everyone makes new characters.
