These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost Conan Exiles server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings
| Setting | What it does | Allowed | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Update On Start | On, the server checks Steam for a newer Conan Exiles build every time it starts and installs it before launching, which keeps it on the version players' own game will connect to. Off, it launches the build already on disk and skips the check - restarts are quicker, and you stay put until you turn this back on. | on or off | on |
| Server Name | The name players see for your server in the Conan Exiles server browser. Up to 40 characters, and it applies the next time the server starts. Avoid quotation marks, which can stop the server from starting. | up to 40 characters, no double quotes or backslashes | A PlaynHost Conan Exiles Server |
| Server Password | A password players must enter before they can join. Leave it empty and anyone can connect; set one and only the people you give it to can get in. Avoid quotation marks in the password, which can stop the server from starting. | up to 64 characters, no double quotes or backslashes | empty |
| Steam Workshop Mods | Mods to load, given as the number after "id=" in each mod's Steam Workshop page address, separated by commas. They are downloaded and the load order rebuilt every time the server starts, so adding or removing one costs a restart and nothing else, and emptying the box puts the server back to unmodded. Everyone joining needs the same mods installed. Digits and commas only. | numbers separated by commas | empty |
| RCON Password | Password for the remote console, which lets an RCON tool run admin commands against your server without joining the game. Your server comes with one already generated, so you only need to change this if you want to. Leave it empty and the remote console stays switched off. The port it listens on is on the Network tab, and a change applies the next time the server starts. | 8 to 64 characters, letters and numbers and these symbols: . _ - | empty |
| Player Limit (read only) | How many players can be on the server at once. This comes with your plan, so it is shown here but cannot be changed - upgrading to a larger plan raises it. | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
Good to know
- Server Name, Server Password and RCON Password apply the next time the server starts, and the mod list is rebuilt at every start, so after changing any of them restart the server. Gameplay options such as harvest rates and PvP are not panel settings: change them from the in-game admin panel, or edit ServerSettings.ini while the server is stopped, because Conan writes its in-memory settings back to the file when it shuts down and can overwrite edits made while it was running.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- Passwords and tokens are not listed with a value. Each server starts with one set for you, or with none, as the row says. Set a password before you invite players if you want a private server.
